Position Description The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences (DEOHS) within the School of Public Health at the University of Washington (UW) invites applications for two full time, tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in Fall 2020 (12 month appointment, UW Job Class Code: 0116). Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences is a premier research and educational department. DEOHS has research programs providing leadership in toxicology, exposure assessment, environmental epidemiology, occupational health and safety, microbiology, and environmental health practice-based participatory research. Educational programs at the undergraduate and graduate level train future leaders in environmental and occupational health sciences. Qualifications For the disaster preparedness, resilience and policy position (1), the successful applicant will have appropriate expertise in disaster-related health risk management, including policy experience related to increasing resilience in affected communities. We especially welcome candidates with a strong background in community relevant, translatable research. For the toxicologist position (2), the successful applicant will have appropriate expertise in mechanistic toxicology with potential applications for developing biomarkers for experimental and human population studies, and techniques for understanding molecular mechanisms of chemically-related illnesses. We especially welcome candidates with a strong background in cellular and animal models using biochemical, molecular and physiological approaches. Required: - A PhD degree or foreign equivalent in a relevant field.
