Requisition Number: 2020-315 Business Unit: College of Public Health Department: COPH Biostatistics 50005426 Reg-Temp: Full-Time Regular Position Summary: The Department of Biostatistics, College of Public Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), seeks outstanding faculty candidates for a tenure-leading position at a level of assistant or associate professor. The rank commensurate with qualifications. Candidates' commitment to scholarly growth is expected and a strong track record (associate professor) or evidence of potential excellence (assistant professor) in independent research is required. Though candidates with statistical methodology expertise in the areas of machine learning, statistical analysis of electronic heath record (EHR) data, informatics for precision medicine or causal inference are highly desired, candidates with excellent track record of all biostatistics areas and prior experience in collaborative research will be given serious consideration. Candidates are expected to teach Biostatistics courses and advise Master and Ph.D students in Biostatistics and Public Health. Other responsibilities include campus and intercampus collaboration and partnerships to pursue grant funding and collaborative research. Opportunities for research collaborations are abundant at UNMC including oncology, neurology, rheumatology, communication disorders, nanomedicine, pulmonary, HIV and other specialties. Faculty at UNMC are also expected to provide committee service at the department, college and university level, and contribute to the development and success of the biostatistics department and the college. Required Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, or an equivalent field. Supplemental Qualifications: Candidates should be comfortable working across disciplines with experience in biostatistical consulting preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Candidates should have experience teaching culturally diverse students from various disciplines, a strong commitment to graduate teaching and advising, and evidence of teaching excellence.
