The Department of Family Medicine at OHSU is a nationally known, diverse, and growing enterprise, encompassing a large clinical system, a robust teaching program, and a vibrant research section. The OHSU Postdoctoral Fellowship in Family Medicine will afford mentorship under the guidance of the faculty supervisor to undertake research funded by the National Institute on Aging. The Fellow will also train alongside the OHSU Postdoctoral Fellows in Family Medicine Research to develop career advancement skills and valuable insights into improving health care quality in primary care settings.This Fellowship focuses on applied research into racial and ethnic differences in the longitudinal dynamics of cognitive impairment, dementia, and multiple chronic conditions/multimorbidity. An applied learning environment on an active research study is complemented with didactic opportunities across the OHSU community, including a Fellowship Seminar Series. Depending on an individual's focus, experience-based learning opportunities and curriculum can be adapted to prepare a fellow for an academic research, health policy, public health and clinician research career. Postdoctoral appointments are temporary by nature and are designed to develop the postdoctoral scholar as an independent scientist and to enhance their professional skills for academic and non-academic careers. Salary for this position aligns with the NIH Scale.
