The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine's Section of General Internal Medicine in the Biological Sciences Division is searching for a Research Assistant Professor or Research Associate Professor, whose primary activity will be academic research in association with a faculty member or team. The appointee will contribute to research projects regarding the organization and delivery of primary care, personalized approaches to managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, and the cost-effectiveness of new care models, treatments, and diagnostic tests as well as have an opportunity to develop independent projects. Data sources for the appointee will include national Medicaid and Medicare claims. The appointee will join an outstanding group of researchers who apply state-of-the-art analytic methods to a broad range of research related to chronic diseases, including epidemiology, biostatistics, health services research, implementation science, pragmatic trials, simulation modeling, and cost-effectiveness analyses. The appointee will complement these existing areas of strength and work across several trans-disciplinary and collaborative units in Chicago working towards improving the prevention and management of chronic disease, including the NIH-funded Chicago Center for Diabetes Translation Research and the Center for Chronic Disease Research and Policy.
