Risk Management & Insurance Environmental Specialist Ball State University
A public research university in Muncie, Indiana is searching for an Environmental Specialist to join their team. This role would be responsible for environmental program management, compliance and training throughout the University. This represents a fantastic opportunity to join a large public research institution with a commitment to safety and who will offer continuous development opportunities.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public or environmental health, environmental, hazardous materials or chemical management, biological sciences, or related field. Three years of experience in environmental management, public health, laboratory or hazardous materials safety. Working knowledge of programs related to environmental, health, and safety; must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the university’s auto fleet policy. Ability to wear respiratory protection, necessary PPE, and work with hazardous and infectious materials.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications: Professional certifications including one or more of the following: CCMM, CCHO, REHS, CIH, and/or FEMA Emergency Response. Qualified Environmental Professional under CERCLA and ASTM standards for environmental due diligence. 40-hour HAZWOPER site safety and 8-hour HAZMAT supervisor training.
