Learn more about the UC Office of the President DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW UC Health provides leadership and strategic direction for UC's six health systems, five of which are academic medical centers, and its 19 health professional schools. UC Health's central office supports operational initiatives at individual campuses and development of systemwide initiatives, promoting collaboration among the university's health professional schools and providing oversight on the business and financial activities of the clinical enterprise. POSITION SUMMARY The University of California Cancer Consortium (UCCC) is a collaboration between the 5 Comprehensive Cancer Centers within the University of California system and their respective health systems: UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, UC Irvine Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, and UCSD Moores Comprehensive Cancer Center. The UC Cancer Consortium works on projects that best address the needs of California's patient population, including: Precision Medicine, Clinical Trials, Population Health Science, Big Data and Best Practices, and Authoritative Advocacy for Cancer Patients in California. Join us and leverage the power of the University of California to improve cancer research and accelerate improvements in health. The UCCC Director is a unique leadership role with broad reach and visibility, working directly with the Chief Clinical Officer and the UCCC Chairs to advance oncology research and treatment across the UC system. Together with cross-functional teams, including leadership from 5 academic medical centers, health research, clinical, regulatory and contracting, you will articulate and develop meaningful partnerships, tools and structures that no one location can achieve on its own. As an oncology subject matter expert, you will help envision new strategic priorities, champion ideas with teams and leadership, develop system-wide cancer initiatives, and test new concepts. You will identify key areas of focus with consideration for the external landscape and stakeholder needs. The ideal person for this role has demonstrated success in building effective cross-functional teams and experience building meaningful, productive collaborations in the academic health setting.
