Location: Indianapolis Department: IUPUI Epidemiology Position Announcement: The Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in genetic epidemiology, statistical genetics or related fields with an interest in diabetes. The research focuses on translational genomic epidemiology of diabetes, including type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a large portfolio of genomic data (genome-wide sequencing and genotyping, methylation, metabolomics, RNA-seq, and proteomic data) and translational data (clinical utility of genetic risk disclosure) to develop their own research projects, and to participate in large-scale international and local collaborations. Ongoing projects include whole genome-/exome- sequence association analysis, genome-wide association studies (GWAS), integrative genomic analyses, and translational/clinical utility research studies. The candidate will also help develop and implement statistical/computational methods for analysis of genomic data e.g., whole genome sequence analysis, integrative genomic data approaches, rare variant analysis, annotation, pathway- and genetic network-based analysis, disease risk prediction using genetic marker data. Projects can be tailored to suit the candidate's research interest and expertise. We offer an excellent team-oriented research environment and opportunities for career advancement.
