Dr. Kean's research aims to understand mechanisms underlying immune tolerance-induction in the prevention and treatment of allo-and auto-immune diseases, with projects focused on graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), cellular therapy, T cell mediators of protective immunity, and the mechanisms underlying auto-immune diseases of the GI tract. Dr. Kean's work has led to the creation of several innovative non-human primate models of T cell-mediated immune pathology and to several first-in-disease clinical trials. She has used both the animal models and the mechanistic studies linked to her clinical trials to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of immune reconstitution after stem cell transplantation, graft rejection and GvHD, and to test the impact that novel immunosuppressive therapies can make on these processes. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to join our bone marrow transplant research using non-human primate and xenogeneic human-to-mouse models. Successful candidate will have meticulous organizational skills, attention to detail, strong work ethics, and ability to learn quickly. The position will work with other team members to support ongoing projects lead by postdocs and junior faculty.
