The Department of Laboratory Medicine serves as a regional resource for clinical laboratory services required for patient care, research and educational programs in laboratory medicine. Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for part-time (50% FTE / 20 hours/week), day shift, CLINICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN 1. Under general supervision, this position performs simple and qualitative clinical laboratory tests and/or prepare/setup specimens for laboratory tests and other laboratory work in support of technologists, faculty and students. This position's primary focus is directed toward pre-analytical handling and processing of patient specimens for diagnostic testing. RESPONSIBILITIES: REQUIREMENTS: High school graduation or equivalent AND one year of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience OR Completion of a laboratory assistant course approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists OR Equivalent education/experience.
