GENERAL INTERNAL MEDICINE FELLOWSHIP University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas
Positions are available beginning July 1, 2021 for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center General Internal Medicine (GIM) fellowship. This two-year program is designed to train successful academic general internists by providing the necessary advanced knowledge, skills, and experiences to succeed in academia as clinician-investigators, clinician-educators, or quality and safety experts. The program includes formal coursework and mentored experiential learning in several domains including: research, medical education, quality improvement (QI), patient safety, and academic career skills. Fellows complete courses either on campus, or supported online, leading to either a Masters in Public Health or Masters in Health Professions Education. Fellows will also conduct a mentored project in research, education, or QI. GIM faculty have expertise in medical education, QI and patient safety, epidemiology, and outcomes, health services, and disparities research across primary care, hospital medicine and palliative care settings. Fellows have opportunities for outpatient and inpatient clinical work, teaching, research and QI in university, safety net, and VA health systems. Fellows receive a stipend and full benefits package along with an allowance for books, travel, and related program expenses.
