The Staff Pharmacist will be responsible for: - Reviewing medication orders to ensure medication therapy is appropriate for patients, identifying drug-drug interactions, contraindications and other potentially problematic issues, collaborating with the prescriber to modify orders as needed
- Reviewing, filling and dispensing medication orders and prescriptions
- Checking medication orders/prescriptions filled by pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns, verifying products are correctly selected, prepared and labeled
- Researching and providing drug information as a subject matter expert
- Providing patient education
- Researching patient history as necessary and complete medication history documentation.
- Performing quality improvement/assurance activities
- Supervising support personnel within assigned work area and ensuring products are prepared and distributed in accordance with established procedures, schedules and protocols
To qualify, you must have: - Knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a PharmD degree from an accredited pharmacy program
- Current license and registration by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy
- Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems OR design relatively complex systems and programs
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to work a rotating schedule including 8 or 12 hour shifts, overnights, rotating weekend and holiday coverage
Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
In this position, you will be part of the esteemed Pharmacy team at our leading-edge Hale Clinical Building, expected to open in early 2022. Though this is a future opportunity, we are hiring and training for all team members prior to the building's opening.
