Fairbanks School of Public Health was formally created in 2012 and was named in recognition of a transformative gift by the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation. With strong connections to the IU School of Medicine and other health science schools on the IUPUI campus, the School of Public Health is poised to be a catalyst to help build a collaborative approach to improved public health in Indiana. The School of Public Health currently serves more than 600 students, employs over 25 full-time staff and is home to over 50 full-time faculty within the departments of Epidemiology, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Health Policy and Management, Global Health, and Biostatistics. Fairbanks School of Public Health is currently recruiting Contact Tracers to serve the City of Indianapolis / Marion County area. A Contact Tracer interviews, evaluates, and monitors clients, provides education, guidance and isolation/quarantine parameters based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as Marion County Public Health recommendations for those individuals who meet case definition for a confirmed, suspect, or probable case of a communicable disease or a contact of someone who meets this definition. May conduct home visits to obtain or verify information. May be involved with contact tracing duties related to quarantine and monitoring of contacts. Performs other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED and one year working/volunteering in an organization where there was interaction with the public either in person or via telephone. Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University. Plus, the following skills and abilities:

Working Conditions / Demands Ability to be on the telephone for extended lengths of time. Ability to work on a computer for several hours a day. Abilty to drive throughout Marion County, Indiana to locate COVID19 cases and contacts. Physical mobility is needed. Ability to navigate city sidewalks and residences that may not have adequate ADA compliant features. This individual will be working in diverse neighborhoods and interacting with a multitude of cultures. Work Location The Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, IUPUI Campus 1050 Wishard Blvd, Indianapolis, Indiana 46202 Note: The Contact Tracer will work remotely, with only occasional visits to the main office location.
