Employment Type: Permanent Faculty Vacancy ID: FAC0002535 Position Summary/Description: The Department of Health Behavior, in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for two fixed-term faculty position as a Research Assistant or Research Associate Professor. The focus of one position is alcohol research to reduce high risk drinking on college campuses, including intervention development, media campaigns, policy change, and coalition building. The focus of the second position is tobacco control policy research, including sales and marketing of tobacco products at retail outlets, health equity, menthol and flavored tobacco products, and pictorial warnings. The successful candidates would primarily focus on research and would not be expected to teach; the candidates may also partner with our faculty conducting ongoing studies on these topics. Applicants must have a strong publication record and evidence of potential for developing a research program supported by extramural funding. With 24 faculty, the Department of Health Behavior trains students and engages in multidisciplinary research to discover, develop and disseminate knowledge that promotes the health of individuals and communities.
