The MOT program is fully accredited until 2023; with all previous graduating classes exceeding the national NBCOT certification pass rate. Responsibilities of this 12-month full time appointment includes teaching, scholarship, and service. Areas of expertise preferred, but not limited to: evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, research, pediatrics, orthopedics or hand therapy. - Post-secondary teaching experience preferred

The Program: The Carroll Master of Occupational Therapy program annually enrolls a 30-student cohort to its full-time, 24-month, 88-credit curriculum designed in the context of the Carroll University mission and ACOTE standards. Consistent with the Carroll liberal arts heritage, the curriculum includes a unique three-course medical humanities series and a three-course service-learning series that focuses on culturally appropriate care and service to underrepresented populations. The MOT program is housed within the Department of Health and Medicine and is located in a 55,000 sq. ft. interdisciplinary graduate teaching and research facility. This facility provides comprehensive teaching and laboratory space specifically designed for the MOT program. In addition, the program utilizes the newly built Michael and Mary Jaharis Laboratories for its state-of-the-art cadaver lab and Anatomage Dissection table and has access to a recently opened 15,000 square foot nursing simulation laboratory in the Douglas and Nancy Hastad Hall. The MOT program currently has funding through a HRSA Primary Care Training and Enhancement grant, with a focus on integrative health, interprofessional experiences, and health literacy. The Department: The Department of Health and Medicine includes the Master of Occupational Therapy and the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies graduate programs, as well as the following majors: Health Sciences-Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Health Sciences-Radiologic Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Public Health, and minors in Health Education and Health and Human Experience. The Department also includes a robust interprofessional initiative with Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Human Movement Sciences departments. The College: The College of Health Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs through four departments— Physical Therapy (DPT), Health and Medicine, Human Movement Sciences and Nursing. Health sciences account for ~60% of the University enrollment. The mission of the College of Health Science is to educate students to be innovative professionals who collaborate to serve the health needs of their communities. College foci include interprofessional education and practice, an integrated approach to health, innovative learning and healthcare technologies, community partnerships and service to medically underserved populations. The new Carroll University Community Health Services building was recently purchased and renovated to support these activities. The College supports the interdisciplinary nature of health science education and has received federal and private foundation grant awards to support these as well as program specific initiatives.
