Our Pediatricians provide a family centered approach to general pediatric care by giving a high quality medical home for you and your new child. Our staff includes nurses, resident physicians, attending physicians and other practitioners, many of whom are bilingual. Resident physicians are doctors who have completed medical school training and are spending three to four additional years learning the specialty of pediatrics or internal medicine-pediatrics. Residents are always under the supervision of an attending or faculty physician. Our inpatient services include consultations and admissions to Tampa General Hospital and All Children's Hospital. As part of integrated services we offer internal medicine-pediatric clinic hat has a unique role of helping with transition to adult medicine care within our USF Health Physicians group. RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching Duties: Clinical teaching and supervision for General Pediatrics residents and students. Research Duties: The faculty member will be expected to develop investigator initiated research program and participate in ongoing research projects within the division. Collaborative effort within the Department and the University will be encouraged Clinical Duties: The position includes the management of patients in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. Inpatient settings are seen at Tampa General Hospital, outpatients may be seen at the University of South Florida medical clinics. Other Duties: Other duties will be assigned by the Division Chief and may include clinical and administrative duties not otherwise listed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: •Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet University criteria for appointment of the rank of Assistant Professor. •This position of Assistant Professor of General Pediatrics requires that the applicant be Board Certified in Pediatrics Prior to assuming the position, a Florida Medical License is required.
