About the Opportunity: The Department of Health Sciences, Bouve College, Northeastern University invites applications for a full- time, non- tenure track Teaching Professor of Health Policy, position of any rank. Qualified candidates may also be considered for an appointment as Professor of the Practice. We seek individuals who specialize in healthcare and public health policy, financing, and/or administration. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary faculty committed to excellence in teaching in our CEPH-accredited Bachelor's and Master's programs in Public Health and our Doctoral Program in Population Health. Teaching faculty are expected to engage in curriculum development and assessment; classroom and, potentially, online teaching; capstone and, where appropriate, dissertation committees; as well as service activities for the Department, College and University. Additionally, engagement in scholarship and/or research is encouraged. Applicants should have a demonstrated history of innovation and excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition, preferred candidates will have background in experiential learning. Responsibilities: Based on background and experience, we are seeking individuals who can bring innovative and effective pedagogical methods to policy-related courses, including the American Healthcare System; Health Policy and Administration; Community and Public Health; Public Health Administration and Policy; and Health Communications. Teaching Professors are appointed to the rank (Assistant, Associate, Full) commensurate with their experience and credentials. Appointment as Professor of the Practice may be offered by the University to a limited number of eminently qualified creative, business, entrepreneurial, law, or other professionals who are recognized by peers as having made significant contributions to fields and disciplines important to public health, healthcare, and population health domains. Qualifications: An MD, JD, PhD or other doctoral degree in Public Health, Population Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field completed by August 2019 is required. Applicants should have a strong track record of teaching and ability to mentor students. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
