Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Rebecca J. Schmidt, the Clinical Research Coordinator leads the implementation of the Bio-Specimen Assessment of Fire Effects (B-SAFE) Pregnancy Study protocol. The goal of B-SAFE is to establish a cohort of women at different stages of pregnancy during Northern California wildfires and their children, collect biospecimens and survey information that will be used in future studies to determine exposure loads, mechanistic responses, and health biomarkers. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities The Clinical Research Coordinator assists with a variety of multi-disciplinary epidemiology research protocols based in the Department of Public Health Sciences and approved by the UC Davis Institutional Review Board (IRB) that obtain human specimens from participants enrolled in research studies and serves as lead with B-SAFE staff and/or Student Assistants to facilitate subjects' participation, coordinate and implement data collection by scheduling and executing study visits and interviews (in clinic and in-home), tracking participants, and collecting biological and environmental specimens. Additionally, the Clinical Research Coordinator helps prepare written summaries regarding the research and helps conduct community outreach and oversees the day to day activities of the B-SAFE pregnancy study following the study protocol and strictly adhering to IRB and HIPAA regulations, and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, Health System policy and procedures, and university standard operating procedures.
