The Schildkraut lab in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Virginia is seeking to hire a Senior Scientist in epidemiology/genetic epidemiology to work on cutting edge epidemiologic and genomics research under the supervision of Dr. Joellen Schildkraut. Funding for the position is guaranteed for two years, and future availability is based on the contingency of funding. The successful candidate will join a collegial and productive research team focused on developing cancer research analyzing large databases of risk factors, genetic susceptibility, molecular signatures in tumors and disparities research. Analytical responsibilities will include management and analysis of high dimensional data from multi-center studies with epidemiologic risk factors and prognostic variables as well as genomic datasets. The candidate will be responsible for writing manuscripts describing their work, assisting in preparing grant applications, organizing group meetings, and presenting at national conferences.
